If you are like me and totally clueless about gifting options for people, you’ll know the misery of going to a gift shop and picking a gift for someone you know. I am always confused about what to buy and mostly end up getting stupid junk for trucks of money. Then I realised what a great gift liquor is and man, that opened such a beautiful window of opportunities.
Birthdays that mark the legal drinking age: The best gift to give someone on their major landmark day is a bottle of booze. They are gonna have to do a lot of adulting and it isn’t gonna be easy. Depending on the legal drinking age, gift beer on the 21st and hard liquor on 25th (depends on which state you live in). They will thank you, trust me.
Weddings: No matter what side you’re from, both the bride and the groom are going to need a large or two to fight the nervousness, never ending rituals and the fact that people are just eating and criticising their hard earned money. They sincerely need a drink.
Anniversaries: Couples are either regretting their decision to marry or are genuinely happy after a year or two, but they are probably too tied up in mundane, everyday things. Bring them alcohol and save them from their routine life. Don’t judge them, a bottle of scotch may seem like a true blessing amongst all the cutlery and photo frames.
New parents: The father is probably highly stressed out, while the mother has been off booze for way too long. Bring them a crib or whatever, but most certainly bring them a case full of alcohol. Also offer to be a babysitter for a day or so. They’re going to be thrilled.
Going away to college: You gift new hostelers Maggi, they will be happy; you give them some money, they will be ecstatic; but give them mini bottles of alcohol that they can sneak into a hostel, and they’re going to be eternally grateful to you. No one is in more need of alcohol than them.
