5 Mumbai Bars That Are Worth Going Broke For

Sanchit Khera - January 19, 2017

True Story: We slog our asses at the most boring job ever only so that we can have that one message at the start of the month which says Rs. LOLLOLLOL has been credited to your account! BC, it doesn’t stay for more than a week, and you start living on ready-to-eat junk and cutting chai in no time, and cringe while paying for someone’s sutta.

But if you ask me the perfect way to spend money when you have a shitload of it (or not), I will say Drinks! Not any drinks, drinks at uber cool places. Which cool places you ask? Mumbai is a hotbed:

Aslio: Let’s start from the fucking top, shall we? The motherfucking, highest bar in the whole wide city, Aslio, is placed on the 38th floor of St.Regis. I mean, getting high at such a high must give them a real high, eh? Be there for the sunset (ya, sure, that’s exactly what we are there for, pfft) or pay a redeemable cover charge of almost 3k (ouch!). But we promise you a kickass evening!

Aer: This is honestly a fallen hero! This stud used to be on top of the city till Aslio and Li Bai happened, but hey, Aer is still bloody awesome. On a super scenic 34th floor of Four Seasons Hotel, amazeball cocktails and a stunning view of the maximum city can be enjoyed. Also, here’s a Pro-Tip: Cocktails and Champagne happy hours occur from 5.30 to 8.0. Arey pagli aur pagle, wipe those tears and run!

Dome: I can promise you that you’ll feel a sense of Deja Vu the moment you are here. No morons, not because you’ve been here before. This place is that dreamy, beautiful, so-out-of-our-aukaat rooftop bar overlooking Marine Drive in Bollywood movies. On the 11th level of a super fancy Intercontinental Hotel, this place probably has the finest ambiance. But hey, no happy hours, no discounts, no anything. Be ready to faint while looking at the bill, but only after having a fucking awesome night!

Gadda Da Vida: You have to be a *lame pun alert* gadha if you don’t visit this place at least once in your life. Juhu is synonymous with posh, and Novotel is pretty much a reflection of elite Juhu. Gadda Da Vida manifests it all, and lies there seductively right by chowpatty. Gorgeous, breathtaking, expensive, and totally worth it!

Harbour Hotel: This oldest, licensed bar is in the legendary Taj Mahal Hotel and dude, it’s worth all your organs. This top notch combination of vintage and modern has some amazing signature cocktails and two whole hours of discounted prices. Ello there, good times! *Screaming* what are you waiting for?
