5 Reasons Why Microbreweries Are Awesome

Nikita Das - October 22, 2017

The first microbrewery was established almost a decade ago in India. Since then, more than 100 of these brewpubs have cropped up across the country. They are not like your regular pubs and bars, and here’s what makes them truly unique and awesome

Focus on the drinking: If you’ve landed up at a microbrewery, you’re most likely extremely serious about your alcohol, craft beer in this case. Microbreweries are extremely focused on getting their beer right, as opposed to probably getting their music or their dance floor lighting right. In fact, most microbreweries don’t even have a dance floor because they’re catering to a very targeted beer drinking audience.

Brewery tours: Several microbreweries across the country provide free brewery tours, as a part of the overall drinking experience they offer. If you’re a true craft beer geek, you’d not miss out on a chance to get a free tour to understand the entire brewing process, and what goes into the making of those delicious beers.

Variety of Beer: These drinking establishments more often than not end up leaving you spoilt for choice, or end up leaving you very very drunk because of the sheer varieties of beer they have on their menu. You’d either be very cautious and zero in on the one that appeals to you the most, or you go on a beer drinking rampage by trying as many of their beers as possible. Either way, it’s a win-win for you!

The food: The food at microbreweries is very different from the regular finger foods available at the typical pubs and restaurants. Since it is very important to pair your craft beer with the right kind of food, these places have their gourmet on point.

Exclusivity: While microbreweries are losing their exclusivity factor in the recent past because of the sheer number of such establishments coming up in India’s urban centres, they’re still unique when compared to the pubs and bars you’re likely to encounter at the corner of every street. So, it’s always exciting to check out a new microbrewery that’s opened up in town, because you’re most likely going to experience something new and different.
